Seminar: Grateful for God’s Word – A Bible Overview

Hopes fulfilled: Jesus and the Future

These seminars will trace the storyline of the Bible, with a focus on all we have to be grateful for. My prayer is that in doing so we will:

– grow in knowledge who God is and who we are in relation to him

– understand any part of the Bible by relating it to this overarching storyline

– see how every part of scripture points to Jesus, and have our hearts lifted to adore him.

The principles of personal faith sharing Joseph will teach can also be used with people of other faiths or no faith. Come and be inspired!

Seminar: The Grace of Gratitude

In sickness and in health

Suffering is folded into the fabric of our lives. The only condition for suffering is to live long enough. How do we continue to be grateful when life falls apart? We need to develop a robust theology of gratitude and to recognize that nothing is wasted. We can be grateful that God uses pain to deepen our relationship with Him transform our lives and alert us to eternal realities.

Morning Bible Reading

Grateful for Prayer (Ephesians 3:14-21)

Paul’s beautiful prayer for the church forms a kind of doxology to end the first half of Ephesians. What can we learn from Paul’s prayer about how to develop a deeper relationship with God? How should we approach God? How can we love better, and experience Christ’s love for us? How should we respond when God, in his limitless power, doesn’t answer our prayers?

Evening Celebration

God’s goodness and might across the generations (Psalm 145)

Psalm 145 calls for a cross-generational grateful declaring of God’s mighty acts. God is to be blessed, at the opening and the close of the psalm, and there is much here to send saints young and old home with rejoicing and confidently ‘looking to’ God and ‘calling on him’.
