Evening Celebration: Jesus Christ: The all-glorious faithful witness

The future of the church – at least in Asia Minor – was threatened from without by persecution and within by false teaching, idolatry and immorality. The words of the risen Christ come, with similar pattern, in every letter. Although rooted in history, and particular, yet they are meant for wider audience and they are very contemporary.

Revelation 1 reminds us to listen to the risen Christ. There is blessing for listening to, and taking to heart, the revelation of Jesus. And such a response is warranted by who Jesus is, what he has done, and what he will do.
