The Assassin (2 Kings 8-10)

God has fixed a day on which he will judge the world, and the terrifying acts of King Hazael and of Jehu the “Messiah” (?!) give us a glimpse of what that might be like. Yet Elisha finally offers us hope in the most unlikely place – a rushed funeral.

We shall find out how God is faithful even in difficult times. Each session will be streamed on YouTube.

On our final morning there’s lots to think about as we take a look at God’s bigger picture and find out how we can be part of that picture too. Join us at 10:45am on YouTube. See you there!

Friday 10:45

Morning Bible Reading: Philippians

Paul wrote the letter to the Philippians while he was in lockdown – imprisoned in Rome and awaiting trial before Nero. Yet his letter brims over with gratitude as he rejoices in the abundant blessings poured into his life by a faithful God.

God – faithful in all things – Philippians 4:1-13
Paul faced an uncertain future. However God’s unchanging faithfulness enabled him to rejoice in the Lord. He had learned how to be contented in all circumstances. He could do all things through Christ who strengthened him. Are our lives filled with joy and gratitude? How do we deal with anxiety? How can we learn the secret of contentment?

This session will be live streamed and available for catch up.

Evening Celebration: Faithful when you’re fearful

The Psalms are not just our words to God, but God’s words to us, given back to his people as instruction, shaping us to respond to him as we ought with our minds and hearts and lives. Each evening this week we will explore a psalm that talks about faithfulness.

In Psalm 34, David teaches us that the faithful God is to be feared. And yet, surprisingly, as we learn to fear him we find that he delivers us from other fears.

This session will be live streamed and available for catch up.
