Tuesday 08:45 Packing Hall,

Seminar: School of Biblical Studies: The Shadow of Christ in the Life of Elisha – 1+2 Kings

The Unstoppable Word (1 Kings 22 – 2 Kings 1)

Meet Micaiah, the prophet who refuses to scratch where his hearers itch, and vows to speak “only what the LORD tells me”. Why then does he lie, and why does God give free reign to lying spirits? Paradoxically all of this ends up reassuring us that God’s word is true and cannot be stopped, a lesson repeated in the sorry tale of Ahaziah.

This session will be available for catch up.

Tuesday 09:30 Andrew Sach PF - 2,

Seminar: Faithful to Christ’s Commission

God’s faithfulness to His Mission in a shifting global landscape

How do we respond to our times with dependence on our God who is determined to bless people from all nations through faith in Jesus Christ? This session will take in Global trends and hear snapshot stories from around the globe, with practical application from Ephesians 1 that dispels the myth that mission is the work of the zealous few. This is the calling of the whole church by God’s global grace.

Count Everyone In

We’d love you to join us for these short daily online sessions of Bible teaching, worship, signing and prayer with Count Everyone In. The series runs Monday to Friday and is especially intended for adults with learning disabilities to encounter God for the first time or to grow in their faith and understanding. We shall explore the exciting Book of Ruth with the help of Janneke Klos, Pete and Christine Winmill, who each take the role of one of the main characters. We shall find out how God is faithful even in difficult times. Each session will be streamed on YouTube.

Seeing the story through Ruth’s eyes, we’re thinking today about how we can trust God when we don’t know the plans He has for us. We’d love you to join us for another short but full session at 10:45am on YouTube.

Tuesday 10:45

Morning Bible Reading: Philippians

Paul wrote the letter to the Philippians while he was in lockdown – imprisoned in Rome and awaiting trial before Nero. Yet his letter brims over with gratitude as he rejoices in the abundant blessings poured into his life by a faithful God.

The Gospel – a faithful message – Philippians 1:12-30
In spite of his imprisonment, Paul rejoices that the gospel continues to bear fruit. God is faithful and will cause his gospel to prosper. Paul is confident that this faithful God will protect and keep him whatever lies ahead. Do we share Paul’s confidence in the gospel? Do we long for Christ? How does the gospel transform our understanding of the future?

This session will be live streamed and available for catch up.

Evening Celebration: Wonderful Lord! Never forget!

The Psalms are not just our words to God, but God’s words to us, given back to his people as instruction, shaping us to respond to him as we ought with our minds and hearts and lives. Each evening this week we will explore a psalm that talks about faithfulness.

Psalm 78 was committed to telling the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord so that they would trust the Lord and not be like their ancestors, who were unfaithful, and perversely so, given all that God had done for them.

This session will be live streamed and available for catch up.

NOTE: This session will be recorded by the BBC and will begin at 7.15pm.
